DORCHESTER INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD CAMPOREE (DIBC)
This annual event will run over the weekend of May 8 - 9 - 10 in Dorchester, Ontario, Canada (just outside London). Along with about 7,000 other Scouts from all over the world, our troop has attended this event almost every one of the last 12 years. This is a great fun campout for first year scouts (but it’s often rainy and cold) Final cost is $TBD (see handout)
We will again require a current US Passport, or Passport Card for every scout and adult that attends. It is impossible to predict what the border crossing will be like – it has been quick and uneventful in past years; and I’m sure that our traveling in official uniform with proper paperwork readily available helped. The scout motto is “be prepared” and there are few places it will make more of a difference.
Click for a Dorchester
signup sheet. NOTE this permission slip needs to be NOTARIZED.
(the troop generally arranges for a notary to
be present at the troop meeting when these forms are due -- you will need to
have picture ID for the notary)
Without exception, Scouts who show up at our meeting place without proper identification will be sent home and not be allowed to attend.
